On March 24-26, the “7th International Macroeconomics and Finance Conference - International Monetary and Financial System: Are We in a New Normal?” took place in Tokyo. AJRC collaborated with the Bank of Japan, Centre for Economic Policy Research (CEPR), the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology (HKUST), Keio University, and Korea University to organise this event.

Ippei Fujiwara, AJRC’s Japan Director, played a crucial role in organising the event, which attracted leading scholars in the field of international macroeconomics and finance from the US, Europe, Asia, and Australia. The conference provided a platform for these experts to present their groundbreaking research on the current challenges faced by the global economy. The event also included keynote speeches by renowned economists Refet Gurkaynak, Professor of Economics at Bilkent University, and Professor Michael Devereux from the University of British Columbia, National Bureau of Economic Research (NBER), and CEPR.
